The Royal Regiment of Artillery, commonly referred to as the Royal Artillery and colloquially known as "The Gunners", is one of two regiments that make up the artillery arm of the British Army

L118 Light Gun

Equipped with the 105mm Light Gun, 3rd Regiment RHA provide agile and rapidly deployable firepower to the British Army. 

Additionally, our fire support teams (FSTs) are able to call-on and coordinate firepower from across the spectrum of military capabilities; from artillery to missiles and attack aircraft.

Provides combat support to both Infantry and Cavalry Regiments. In our current role as an L118 Light Gun Regiment there are currently members of the Regiment posted in all corners of the world and part of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force.

AS90

1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery is an armoured artillery regiment.  Its primary role is to provide combat support to heavy armour formations.  Equipped with the AS90 self-propelled gun, 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery is capable of delivering indirect fire support at ranges of up to 24.7 kilometres.

Depth Fires & Targeting

26th Regiment Royal Artillery is the Army’s Divisional Fires Regiment.  Equipped with the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and EXACTOR 2, the new Regiment delivers precision strike munitions out to 84km in support of the Iron Division.

Surveillance, Target Acquisition

The Army's Surveillance and Target Acquisition (STA) regiment, and a singleton regiment - the only unit which provides the capabilities we have. We have a constant commitment to deploy one sub-unit every six months as the Theatre STA Battery. On operations, the Theatre STA Battery acts as the eyes of the troops on the ground.

Remote Piloted Air Systems

32nd Regiment Royal Artillery (The Wessex Gunners) are the Army's RPAS regiment. The regiment provides ISR support to 16 Air Assault Bde, 12 & 20 Armoured Bde's and the Long Range Reconnaissance Group through the use of it Puma III, Wasp, Desert Hawk III and Parrot Remote Piloted Air Systems

Air Defence

12th Regiment Royal Artillery are the Army’s only Regiment to Close Support Air Defence to our most important assets on the battlefield, using state-of-the-art missiles and detection systems. This gives us the ability to destroy a variety of threats from enemy rotary wing to unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

We are also the only owner of the Land Environment Air Picture Provision System (LEAPP), providing the Land Component with vital Air Situational Awareness on the Battlefield

29 Commando hold a unique capability within the Royal Artillery. We are the Commando Gunners and we provide offensive support to 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines. We are a regiment of Army Commandos held at Very High Readiness (VHR) and we specialise in amphibious operations, mountain, desert, jungle and arctic warfare.

106th Regiment Royal Artillery are the British Army’s only reserve anti air warfare regiment. We operate the lethal high velocity missile, Starstreak. We specialise in delivering vital close support air defence to the UK’s manoeuvre forces, providing protection to critical assets from a range of airborne threats. We are the only reservist regiment to provide this capability.
